Cartier Tank Americaine Hong Kong LE White Gold 1726 - 1997

Absolutely one of the coolest Tank Americaine’s I’ve had the privilege of having in my hands. The Cartier Tank Americaine Hong Kong model was produced in a special limited edition of 97 pieces to commemorate the hand-over of Hong Kong from Great Britain to the People's Republic of China in June 1997. Featuring the most stunning 18k white gold case, the gorgeous guilloche Salmon dial is specially set with Arabic numerals only at 9 and 7 o'clock to represent the year the handover occurred. These pieces are exceedingly rare, and highly prized for good reason.

This particular example presents in very good condition. Case shows scuffs and marks consistent with its age, but nothing a polish wouldn’t take care of if desired. Please see images for full condition details.

Comes mounted on a Cartier blue ‘gator strap and Cartier Tang buckle.

Unknown service history. Winds smoothly, and keeps time at +8 seconds on the timegrapher at 312 degrees of amplitude. Seems to lose a little power on the wrist which can make timing inconsistent, so would suggest a service at some point.

Comes with inner box only.

These don’t pop up very often, so if you like it don’t let it get away as you may not see another for a while.
