Rolex Day Date 1803 - 1973

This is it, the top of the tree for the Rolex range and the very best series in our opinion. For those unfamiliar with Day Date’s, the 1803 is the first in the series and is differentiated from later models for its pie-pan dial and non-quickset day and date adjustment. This pie-pan dial configuration lends a depth not seen in later models, and the open 6’s and 9’s adds vintage charm. For us, the 36mm is the original and best Day Date configuration, and the 1803 is the pick of the litter.

This particular example presents in absolutely amazing condition. Features a non-lume champagne sigma dial in perfect condition. Thick, sharp lugs with a uniform finish. Serial number extremely clear indicating minimal refinishing. Open 6's and 9's.

No marks on the plexi, and only a few super light hairlines on the side of the case, and some small marks from strap changes.

Comes mounted on a lovely Colareb Firenze Blue strap with 18k gold Rolex pin buckle.

Unknown service history, but timing suggests it would have been seen to not too long ago. Winds smoothly, date and day changes sharply at 12. Keeping excellent time at -3 secs per day at 286 degrees of amplitude.
