Blancpain Leman Flyback Chronograph 2185F Titanium – 2005

Absolutely one of the coolest Blancpain’s th­at’s ever graced our wrists, the 2185F is a high-end tool watch that manages to feel super-tough and practical, while also being a thing of beauty with clearly very high levels of fit and finish.

Featuring a 38mm titanium case with screw down pushers, it houses a stunning grey and black dial with lumed Arabic numerals with orange highlights on the minute track, and a discreet date window at 6. It’s powered by the magnificent Blancpain F185 caliber, based on the F.Piguet 1185 movement, and features a column wheel flyback chronograph complication. It’s mounted to a wonderful rubberised leather strap on Blancpain double-push button deployant. It’s an amazingly versatile watch that features enough detail to always be interesting when you look down at it, but unobtrusive enough to fly under the radar. Just what a modern tool watch should do.

This particular example dates to 2005, and presents in TZ Good condition. The titanium case shows wear from regular use mainly in the form of rub marks, along with some small nicks and dings scattered around the case and bezel. Titanium tends to show up wear more than stainless steel, but the trade off is a beautiful warm hue, lightness as well as hypo-allergenic properties.

Outer AR coating shows a few small marks, and there’s scuffing present on the buckle. Strap shows a little wear, but has plenty of life left. Please see images for full condition details.

Apparently serviced by the previous well-known retailer here in Melbourne and the timing results would back that up. Winds very crisply, and is currently running at +2 seconds per day at 282 degrees of amplitude.
