Jaeger LeCoultre just doesn’t make them like they used to, and that’s a real shame as what they used to make is watches like this; the Master Compressor Diving Navy Seals. Now, we’re not going to sit here and tell you that this watch was worn by Navy Seals, and bang on about their involvement in the development of these watches and how in-depth that may have been, because frankly the watch is so good that it doesn’t need to resort to marketing to sell it. We think it’s one of the best JLC’s of the modern era, and certainly in the top few sports pieces they’ve made.

This time and date version is one of the rarer pieces in the collection, not because they made less (1500 were produced), but because they’re pretty tightly held. Most of the series is on the larger side, but this particular piece measures in at 42mm making it the smallest in the range making it more suitable for a larger portion of the population. The case is made of steel and the bezel insert is matte-ceramic. The black dial has large lumed markers, with Arabic 6-9-12, and a beautifully integrated date-window at 3. It’s powered by the JLC 899 automatic calibre.

This particular piece is early in production, so would date to around 2010 and presents in TZ ‘Good’ condition. Case shows signs of regular use, with some scratches and very small dings present. Bezel shows a few small marks, and there’s some scratching on the case back. Nothing large or deep, and all could be taken care of by JLC at service when the time comes.
