Rolex Submariner 5513 Matte Meters First Dial - 1967

One of our favourite series in the long line of Submariners, and in these early 5513’s embodies all that we love about vintage Subs. The cases are spectacularly proportioned, and are combined with a matte dials seen in the earlier examples is probably the most iconic watch design of all time.

This particular example hails from circa-1967 and features an original matte, meters first dial which is in fantastic condition and is completely original. The patina that has developed on the plots and hands is extremely vivid, uniform, and downright spectacular. The only blemish we can see is what looks to be a tiny oil mark right below the Swiss<T25. Retains its original twin-lock crown.

The hands match the dials, and show some partial cracking.

The case is very nicely preserved, with thick, even lugs.

The bezel is original and still retains its pearl, and is in excellent condition. The pearl looks to have had a tiny amount of glue or similar applied over the top to ensure it doesn’t go anywhere.

Caseback is original, stamped 5513 and dated ‘67.

Comes equipped on a rivet 7206 bracelet with 80 endlinks. Date code is 4/67. Has 9 links and is in excellent condiiton with minimal stretch.

Was serviced in 2019 by Max Schweizer Winds very smoothly and is currently keeping COSC time.

Comes with outer box, inner box and service receipt.
