Rolex Submariner 5513 Matte Meters First Dial - 1967

One of our favourite series in the long line of Submariners, and in these early 5513’s embodies all that we love about vintage Subs. The cases are spectacularly proportioned, and are combined with a matte dials seen in the earlier examples is probably the most iconic watch design of all time.

This particular example hails from circa-1968 and features an original matte, meters first dial which is in fantastic condition and is completely original. It originated from Northern Europe, and as such the patina has developed to quite a light vanilla colour, unlike those darker hues seen in more sun-drenched and arid countries.

The hands match the dials, and show only partial cracking.

The case is very strong, with thick, even lugs.

The bezel is the original MK2 Fat Font with Long 5 and in excellent condition. The pearl has been replaced by a Luminova example at some point.

Caseback is original and stamped IV.67.

Comes equipped on the original 7206 rivet bracelet, with 80 stamped endlinks and later H coded inner-clasp (1983). Will fit up to a 7.7in wrist.

Apparently serviced early this year. No paperwork to back this up, but running within COSC specs on the timegrapher.

Comes as watch-only. No accessories.

Absolutely stunning 5513. They don't come much better.
