IWC Ingenieur Silver IW3239-04 - 2013

Released in 2013, the 3239 series of Ingenieurs is one of our favourites. With it’s sensible 40mm diameter, and measuring just 9.9mm thick, it’s a magnificent example of Genta design and reminds us a lot of one of the all-time great Ingys, the 3227.

Within that 40mm steel case lies a gorgeous and, at first glance, seemingly simple white/silver dial. But upon closer inspection you see the multiple levels to it, the first being the outer minute track, then the minute track with applied indices, and finally the central portion of the dial with centre seconds, with all occupying different level to create a brilliant feeling of depth.

That case is absolutely stunning, and clearly of Genta-lineage, while also having a character all of its own. The integrated bracelet is super-comfy, very well finished, and features IWC’s brilliant link adjustment system, along with a half link to allow for the perfect fit.

This  particular example was first sold in 2013 and presents in TZ Good condition. Overall presentation is fantastic, with signs of regular wear consistent with its age. Only the presence of some small nicks along the bevel lines and tiny pin dents on the bezel downgrade it to ‘Good’ from ‘Excellent’ on our grading scale. Bracelet shows some light desk diving marks, and there's a spec of dust under the glass on the rehaut between 4 and 5. Please see images for full condition details.

Unknown  service history. Currently timed at +9 secs per day at around 275 degrees of amplitude. All functions operating as they should.
