Ming x Massena LAB 17.09 Honey – Brand New

Perhaps this piece needs no introduction, but let’s give it one anyway! The 17.09 Ming x Massena is the first collaboration piece by Ming, who have teamed up with renowned horological figure William Massena to create a special run of 200 pieces of the 17.09 with a honeycomb dial. Of those 200 pieces, 50 were created in this spectacular shade of gold, known as the ‘Honey’.  

The hexagonal honeycomb dial is a spectacular shade of gold, and features a circular brushed ring on it’s outer that seems to have the indices hovering above them. That’s because they effectively are, being etched onto the underside of the crystal. The case is made of steel and measures in at an extremely wearable 38mm, and is only 10mm thick.

It’s powered by the Cal. 330.M1, a modified version of the Sellita SW330-2, developed with Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne. It features an independent hour hand adjustment mechanism which makes it an ideal travel watch. Now, it’s very well known that a number of pieces suffered from hand alignment issues upon release. This particular piece was sent back to Ming as a precaution, and has had its movement updated so nothing to worry about here. Alignment has been checked and it’s spot-on.

This particular piece was not worn before being sent back, and still presents in new condition.

It comes mounted on a stunning black alcantara strap with blue stitching, handmade by Jean Rousseau Paris.

Includes outer box, inner pouch, travel case, warranty paperwork indicating it is under warranty until July 31st 2023, Watch Vault cleaning cloth and an extra Jean Rousseau strap provided by Ming as a courtesy upon return of the watch from their workshop.
