Rolex Submariner 5513 Matte Mark II Maxi - 1982

One of our favourite series in the long line of Submariners, and in these early 5513’s embodies all that we love about vintage Subs. The cases are spectacularly proportioned, and are combined with a matte dials seen in the earlier examples is probably the most iconic watch design of all time.

This particular example hails from circa-1982 and features an original matte Maxi Mark II dial which is in fantastic condition and is completely original. These are the last of the matte dials before moving to markers with white gold surrounds in 1984, and are known as maxi dials due to their oversized hour markers. These markers have taken on a lovely patina, and show very little degradation.

The hands have aged slightly darker than the dial under some lights, and show some partial cracking.

The case is extremely preserved, with thick, even lugs and clearly defined bevels. The bezel is original and still retains its pearl, and is in excellent condition.

Bracelet is the original 93150 with 8 links, and 580 endlinks. Clasp is stamped with a G-serial, dating it to 1982.
