Cartier Tank Must XL WSTA0040

Cartier has had a huge resurgence over the last few years within the watch collector community, and with very good reason. Not only the originator of the wrist-watch as we know it today, their unfailing dedication to their own aesthetic makes them instantly recognisable, and are deserving of the respect and reverence they command.

Along with the Santos line, the Cartier Tank line is perhaps their most well known, with this iconic line having endured for over 100 years. The design of the Tank was inspired by the Renault FT-17 tanks, hence its rectangular form.

The version we have here is the WSTA0040, the largest of the Automatic Tank Must series measuring in at 31mm x 41mm. This is a rectangular watch, so the 31mm tends to wear quite a bit larger than it’s on paper spec suggests. It features a stainless steel case, automatic movement, silver opaline dial with 6 o'clock date, and finished off with blued steel hands. Mounted on an elegant leather strap with folding buckle, it’s classic Cartier.

This particular was first sold locally in August 2022 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition with only very light signs of wear int he form of a few swirlies. Please see images for full condition details.
