Grand Seiko Elegance Collection Limited Edition SBGK005

Released in 2019 as a limited run of 1500 pieces, the SBGK005 is one of our favourite Grand Seiko's released up to this point.

The dial is usually the undisputed star of the show with a Grand Seiko, but in the Elegance series the case is equally as important to what makes them so special. The proportions of the 39mm steel case are phenomenal, with the curvature of the case and lugs that seem to wrap around the bezel making for an almost-cushion shaped case that feels very organic on the wrist.

Housed within this spectacular case is a gorgeous deep blue Mt Iwate dial, covered in a curved sapphire glass which adds a further dimension to how it plays with the light. It feels like the perfect partner to the Elegance case.

Powering it is the 9S63 manual wind movement with 72 hour power reserve, and allows for a thickness of 11.3mm even with the curved sapphire. As always, finishing is absolutely superb and it’s all topped off with the fantastic blue Croc strap on steel deployant.

This particular example was sold new locally in July 2019 and presents in TZ Good condition. The case shows light swirlies and hairlines on the polished sections, with some strap change marks on the rear of the lugs. There's some very small dings on the left side of the case, and one on the right side of the case just above the crown. There's also a few scratch marks on the right side from winding. All dings are very small and not noticeable on the wrist, but we like to ensure full disclosure. Please see images for full condition details.
