Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm 2201.50.00 Co-Axial

Watch Vault was built on the sales of the original Planet Ocean, but these days we rarely see them as they're being held quite tightly by collectors as they're recognising, as we have, that the original is still the best.

Originally released in 2005, the first Planet Ocean was a home run for Omega, and pitted the Seamaster squarely against the Sea-Dweller as a proper diver and tough as nails tool watch. Utilising a 42mm case crafted in steel, it features 600m of water resistance while at the same time being extremely wearable and in no way oversized. It houses a matte black dial with lumed markers, a lumed broad arrow handset, and is topped with a uni-directional steel bezel with aluminium insert unlike the ceramic of later, flashier models. It's powered by the Omega Cal. 2500 movement with automatic winding, and a co-axial escapement. This particular piece is mounted to an Omega Bond nato, with additional Planet Ocean rubber strap also included.

Given a full overhaul by Omega in 2021, this particular example presents in TZ Good condition. The case is in very nice condition, with some small scratches and light scuffs present. There are a few dings/dents along the bevel lines, hence the 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' grading on our grading system. The rear of the lugs also show quite a few scratches form strap changes, and the buckle of the nato shows some desk diving marks. The bezel is also very stiff to turn, likely just requiring a clean underneath given it was replaced at service. See images for full condition details.
