Seiko Prospex 62MAS Reissue SPB143J

Seiko dive watches are about as cool as they come. Whether that be the Willard, SLA017 or the Turtle, they have a clear design language all of their own, are tough as nails, and rightly coveted by Seiko collectors, and greatly respected by the watch enthusiasts the world over.

Based on Seiko's first dive watch, the 62MAS, the SPB143J occupies a space between the entry-level Seiko dive watches and the much more expensive SLA fare. The 62MAS was actually first reissued under the SLA line with the SLA017, and the SPB143 can be seen as a pared back version of this at a much more affordable price point which is fantastic as it allows far more folks to indulge in the classic skin-diver styling and tough as nails approach to tool watches that these pieces represent.

Utilising a goldilocks case size of 40.5mm in steel, it is a very manageable 46.5mm lug to lug and 13.7mm thick. Within this case lies a beautiful sunray grey dial with luminous applied markers and lumed hands, and is surrounded by a 12--click bezel with Dia-Shield-coated stainless steel insert. It's mounted to a Seiko steel bracelet, and powered by the 6R35 automatic movement with 70 hour power reserve, hacking seconds and quickset date.

This particular piece was first sold in November 2022 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition, with a couple of small strap change marks, and some feint hairlines being the only real hint of use. Bracelet still has most stickers in place. Please see images for full condition details.

Seiko do not issue warranty cards out any longer, so the original receipt is included for warranty purposes, and serves as papers for new Seiko models.
