IWC Ingenieur Silver Dial IW323904 IW3239-04

Released in 2013, the 3239 is perhaps our favourite Ingenieur series. With it’s sensible 40mm diameter, and measuring just 9.9mm thick, it’s a magnificent example of Genta design cues and reminds us a lot of one of the all-time great Ingys, the 3227.

Within that 40mm steel case lies a gorgeous and, at first glance, seemingly simple white/silver dial. But upon closer inspection you see the multiple levels to it, the first being the outer minute track, then the minute track with applied indices, and finally the central portion of the dial with centre seconds, with all occupying different level to create a brilliant feeling of depth.

That case is absolutely stunning, and clearly of Genta-lineage, while also having a character all of its own. The integrated bracelet is super-comfy, very well finished, and features IWC’s brilliant link adjustment system, along with a half link to allow for the perfect fit. This example also includes the factory rubber strap if you'd like to change the look up, which is a nice option to have.

This particular example was first sold in 2022 and presents in TZ Good condition. Overall presentation is very good, with signs of regular wear consistent with being used daily. The case shows scratches and some small nicks, with a few pin dents, small scrapes and nicks around the bezel. Most would polish out ($430 at time of writing by IWC themselves), though the two nicks at 8 are a little deeper, though small. Bracelet and clasp shows some desk diving marks. No service history. Currently keeping COSC time. All functions operating as they should, and remains under manufacturers warranty until March 2024 with the possibility of extending until 2030.
