ochs und junior Settimana Classic Black

For those familiar with Watch Vault, you’re probably aware of our adoration for ochs und junior.

If you're not familiar with ochs und junior, they operate on an ethos of radical simplicity, creating amazing complications with as few moving parts as possible. Backed by the amazing brain that is Ludwig Oechslin, they're simply some of the coolest watches in the world. They're also easy to service, comfortable, and extremely limited in production.

Previously all watches form ochs und junior were fully customisable, but they now offer some serial production lines of which this Settimana is one. Featuring a day of the week complication and the usual pared back aesthetic, this particular piece is executed in a 36mm titanium case housing a matte black face and white indices and hands, all with SuperLuminova. This example has also been optioned with the more expensive leather strap and full size ochs buckle, which is quite simply the best buckle in watchmaking in our opinion, and a key ochs ingredient.

This piece was delivered in 2022, and remains in near mint condition with only light signs of wear. There's a couple of tiny rub marks on the case and case back, and a small mark on the outer edge of the lower left lug, but that's about it. There's also a small dust dot present just to the left of the cannon pinion. Please see images for full condition details.

ochs und junior watches do not come with papers, so this includes the original box and leather travel case, as well as an aftermarket Kudu strap.

The world is waking up to ochs und junior. Perhaps we're recognising that in a world increasingly full of flash and superfluousness that perhaps simple, clever and understated is the way forward.
