Seiko Tuna 7549-7010

The Seiko Tuna is a legend in the dive watch world, and its iconic design continues on to this very day.

This particular reference is the 7549-7010, and was originally released in 1977. A smaller watch than its forebears, the 'Golden Tuna' and Grandfather Tuna', it loses a millimetre or two from diameter and thickness, making it eminently more wearable for most folks while still retaining that unmistakable Tuna aesthetic and wrist-feel.

Within its 47mm lugless case lies a matte back dial with tritium plots that remains in lovely condition with only minor marks around the chapter ring, and a few small wear marks near the plots. Plots show very little tritium degradation. The hands are also tritium, and show a little more degradation but are still full. They glow brighter than the plots, but fall off at the same rate.

The case shows wear in line with its age, as does the bezel.

Recent movement check and clean and new battery and seals in July 2022 according to the previous owner.

Currently mounted to a lovely TYT elastic strap, and also includes a period-correct Seiko rubber strap. No box or papers.

A very nice example of this iconic watch.
