DEKLA Marine 40mm römisch

DEKLA is an independent watchmaker based out of Stuttgart, aiming to create watches of a very high quality relative to their price point. And if this Marine Roman is anything to go by, they're doing a bang up job.

Unlike most other brands of this size, Dekla are capable of manufacturing main parts of the watchworks independently including cases, dials and their stunning thermally blued watch hands. A tall feat for a small company, and it allows them to create pieces that would not otherwise be economically viable or possible utilising off the shelf part.

The version we have here is called the Marine Roman, and as its name suggests is based around a classic marine chronometer style. It features a 40mm case in steel, housing a grey dial with white Romans, sub-seconds at 6, topped with stunning purple fired hands. Powering it is the Unitas 6498 manual wind movement, and in this instance features a partially engraved movement and radial sunburst on the barrels.

It's currently mounted to a TYT leather strap with Dekla tang buckle, and also includes the original OEM calfskin.

First delivered in August 2022, it remains in TZ Near Mint condition with no real signs of wear other than perhaps the very lightest of swirl marks, and some very minor strap change marks on the lugs. The sub-seconds hand has a very slight bend in it, and was delivered this way. Should it bother you it is covered under warranty, but if the owner had not mentioned it we probably wouldn't have noticed. Please see images for full condition details.
