Ebel 1911 BTR Chronograph E9137L72

Popularised by one Don Johnson, whom you may know from a little TV show called Miami Vice, the Ebel 1911 received a revamp in 2006, and the BTR range was born.

Featuring a 44.5mm case in steel, it could only be an Ebel in appearance with its customary 5 screws surrounding the bezel and sitting atop it's unique case shape. It features a knurled screw-down crown for 100m of water resistance, as well as knurled chrono pusher surrounds which look like they're screw down, but are not. Within this funky case lies a deep black dial with lumed applied markers, applied Ebel logo, and assymetric sub-dials for the chrono with a guilloche pattern within the sub-seconds register. A discreet date window lies at 4:30. All hands pertaining to the chrono functionality are in yellow, which works beautifully against the black of the dial, and match the excellent Ebel 'gator strap. The whole thing feels extremely well thought out, and the level of finish is extremely high for a sports chronograph.

Powering it is the in-house Calibre 137, which took its base from the Lemania 1340 and then had its winding mechanism redesigned. It's a very pretty movement, and the click of the pushers is silky smooth.

This particular example presents in TZ 'Good' condition. The bezel shows scratching throughout, and some minor dings. The case itself shows some minor marks, with some marks around the screws on the rear of the case from strap changes. AR coating shows some light marks. Strap is in excellent condition, and the steel deployant shows desk diving marks. Please see images for full condition details.

Service history is unknown. Winds smoothly, Chrono operates as it should, and keeping time at about +7 seconds a day at 292 degrees of amplitude.
