Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph Thunderbird 16263 - 1991

The Datejust 36 is an absolute stalwart of the horological world, and watches don't come much more iconic than a two tone DJ. With its superbly proportioned and eminently wearable 36mm case crafted in steel, the Turn-O-Graph differs to the more commonly seen Datejusts with the addition of a bi-directional engine-turned yellow gold bezel with 60 minute scale, pushing the Datejust into more of the sports watch sphere.

The 16263 was released in the late 80's, and differed to it's earlier counterpart with the use of a sapphire crystal rather than acrylic, as well as an upgraded movement with the 3135 in place of the earlier 3035.

This particular example dates to 1991 and presents in good vintage condition. The case would have been polished a few times in its life, and shows scratches, dings and nicks commensurate with regular use. Numbers are clear between the lugs.

Dial shows a uniform spotting patina. Tritium plots are all in place, and show little degradation. Hands are tritium. Please see images for full condition details.

Bracelet is a 62523 with 20 links, 455B endlinks and P6 dated clasp (1991). Shows quite a lot of stretch which is typical of this age of Jubilee.

Service history is unknown. Currently keeping COSC time at about 238 degrees of amplitude.
