Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Steel 36mm 1603

Here we have one of our favourite Datejusts, the magnificent 1603 on Jubilee with silver dial dating to 1973. An absolute icon of the watch world.

Featuring a classic 36mm steel case with steel engine turned bezel, steel Jubilee bracelet, silver tritium pie-pan dial with gorgeous applied markers, and is powered by the venerable 1570 movement. It makes for a versatile and elegant piece, and one it that is now starting to become extremely popular with collectors and those wanting to take their first steps into the world of vintage Rolex.

This particular example dates from 1974, and presents in very good vintage condition. Original dial is in fantastic condition. The tritium plot at 6 is missing, and the ones at 7, 8 and 9 show some degradation to varying degrees. Some speckles of tritium can be seen under the crystal/on the dial under UV. Plexiglass is in great nick. Correct date wheel with open 6's and 9's.

Original case has been polished but presents very well, with numbers clearly visible between the lugs. See images for full condition details.

Bracelet is a 62510H with 555 endlinks and contains 18 links. Date code is B, dating it to 1977. Shows some stretch, but quite good for its age.

Was serviced locally in 2020. Winds smoothly, and is running at about -4 secs per day at 275 degrees of amplitude.

No box or papers. Comes with Watch Vault cleaning cloth and Watch Vault Travel Pod.
