Rolex Submariner 16800 - 1984

The Submariner 16800 is what is known as a transitional model, linking the plexi-glass, matte-dial 1680 Sub to the long-running 16610 wit sapphire crystal and white gold marker surrounds. The 16800 was the first Sub to feature a Sapphire crystal and uni-directional clicker bezel, and are often seen with what is known as a ‘Spider Dial’, which references a manufacturing flaw in the lacquering of the dial evident during this period which leads to the spider-web type appearance of the dial. This spidering effect has now become highly desired by collectors.

This particular example dates form 1984 and presents in very good vintage condition. Case has had a refinish at some point. Retains thick lugs, with clear numbers between them. Case shows minor scratching and scuffs from regular use.

Bezel shows a lovely fade, and tritium markers show a nice patina developing. Please see images for full condition details.

Comes equipped on a lovely Colareb Siena strap. No bracelet is included.
