Cartier Tank Francaise Automatic 2302

Cartier has had somewhat of a resurgence of late within the watch collector community, and with very good reason. Not only the originator of the wrist-watch as we know it today, their unfailing dedication to their own aesthetic makes them instantly recognisable, and are deserving of the respect and reverence they command.

Along with the Santos line, the Cartier Tank line is perhaps their most well known, with this iconic line having endured for over 100 years. The design of the Tank was inspired by the Renault FT-17 tanks, hence its rectangular form.

The version we have here is the 2302, a traditional men’s size piece that is also very popular with women due to it’s versatile 29mm size. This is a rectangular watch, so the 29mm tends to wear quite a bit larger than it’s on paper spec suggests. It features a stainless steel case, ETA automatic movement, beautifully integrated date window at 6, silver opaline dial with Cartier’s trademark guilloche finish and finished off with blued steel hands. This particular piece dates from the very early 00’s and presents in TZ Good condition. The case shows small marks from careful use, and a very small ding on the upper right lug. This ding downgrades it automatically to TZ good, otherwise it would be considered excellent condition. Please see images for full condition details.

The bracelet shows some only light scratches and scuffing, and is fully linked to fit an 8 inch wrist.

No known service history. All operations functioning as they should, and currently keeping COSC timing.
