Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Steel 36mm 1603 Wide Boy - 1972

Here we have a gorgeous vintage Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1603, the perfect entry level Rolex.

Featuring a classic 36mm steel case with steel engine turned bezel, housing a gorgeous silver dial with wide boy markers, and is powered by the venerable 1570 movement.

It makes for a versatile and elegant piece, and one it that is now starting to become extremely popular with collectors and those wanting to take their first steps into the world of vintage Rolex.

This particular example dates from 1972 and presents in very good vintage condition. The silvered wide boy dial is in nice condition. The outer edges show some excess oil/water marks, and there’s some small dents present just to the right of ‘Datejust’ on the dial. Tritium plots are in place, showing some degradation.

Original date wheel with open 6’s and 9’s.

The case is very thick and even for it’s age, with a few dings and nicks present, most notably one above the drown on the side of the case. Numbers clearly visible between the lugs. See images for full condition details.

Hands are genuine service replacement lumed items.

Plexiglass is in wonderful condition with only very light marks.

Comes mounted on a lovely Cascade Strap Co leather strap with tang buckle. No bracelet is included.

According to the previous owner it was serviced by LA Watchworks at the start of 2020. Currently running at around +6 secs per day at 252 degrees of amplitude.
