Cartier Santos 100 XL Automatic 2656

The Cartier Santos holds legendary status in the world of horology, and has the honour of being the very first men’s wristwatch in 1904. These days it comes in a vast array of sizes, materials, and movement options.

The version we have here is known as the Santos 100 XL and features a case is made of stainless steel, measuring in at 41.3mm across. The silvered opaline dial features classic roman numeral markers, blued luminescent steel hands, and no date ensuring it stays free of clutter and retains spectacular balance. It’s powered by the Calibre 049 (ETA2892-A2) automatic movement, and comes mounted to on a wonderful Alligator strap with folding buckle.

This particular piece dates from the mid-00’s and is in TZ Good condition. The case and bezel show marks form regular wear, with some small nicks on the right side of the case and light dings on the bevels. The strap is in excellent condition, and the buckle shows some desk diving marks. Please see images for full condition details.

Service history is unknown, but the back does have a service sticker on it so has had some attention at some point. Keeping COSC time.
