Grand Seiko SBGH267 ‘Whirlpool’ Automatic 20th Anniversary Limited Edition – 2018

Released to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the 9S movement, the SBGH267 of course features the fabled movement, but what sets it apart is the magnificence of the dial. Grand Seiko are renowned for having some of the most fantastic dials at any price point, and this is one is very special indeed. Featuring the most amazing radial spiralling pattern of GS and Daini Seikosha logos, depending on the light the dial can look deep navy blue, alternating to a vibrant light blue in direct sunlight. The Zaratsu polished markers seem to float above this sea of blue, and typical of GS anniversary patterns the further you delve into it the more impressive the details become.

As above, it is powered by the lovely 9S68 movement, which is contained within a 39.5mm steel case and mounted to a stainless steel bracelet making for a versatile, but extremely intriguing, daily wearer.

This particular example was purchased locally in 2018 and presents in TZ Excellent condition after a full service by Grand Seiko in June 2020. There are a couple of scratches on the upper left lug, and some light rub marks on the upper left side of the case. There's also an extremely small dust fleck under the glass to the left of the 12 marker, which we're sure Grand Seiko would remove if it bothered you given it likely made it in there during the service.
