IWC Pilot’s Watch Fliegerchronograph Ref. IW3706

A personal favourite of ours, and an absolute classic in Schaffhausen watchmaking, the IW3706 is the prototypical Pilot’s watch from IWC.

The brushed stainless steel case is perfectly sized at 39mm, and features 60m of water resistance with the IWC fish-style crown is still in place. It houses a beautiful flight-deck inspired black dial with tritium markers at 3,6 and 9 with Arabic numerals filling in the other positions. A classic day and date window lies at 3, with double-quickset feature. It is powered by the high-grade ETA 7750, known as the IWC caliber 7922.

It is mounted to the magnificent IWC brushed steel bracelet with single-button foldover clasp with engine turned inner detail, and will fit a roughly 7.4in wrist.

This particular piece dates from the mid-90’s to early-00’s and presents in TZ good condition. The case and case back show only light signs of regular use, with some scratches on the rear of the lugs from strap changes and rub marks on the case back. There’s a light scuff on the bezel between 10 and 11, and a small scratch on the glass near 2. Grading is downgraded to TZ ‘Good’ from ‘Excellent’ due to the presences of a few small dings on the bezel and rear of lugs. See images for full condition details.

Unknown service history, but would appear to have been looked at in the not too distant past as it’s running within COSC specs at close to 300 degrees of amplitude.
