Furlan Marri Havana Salmon 1031-A

Winners of the "Horological Revelation" prize at the prestigious GPHG awards in 2021, it's fair to say Furlan Marri has burst onto the scene of micro watch brands in a big way. Their first collection is based around the Patek Philippe 1463 Chronograph form the 40's, which is fair to say would have to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing chrono's ever made.

Creating a homage to this piece is a tall task, especially for a brands first foray into watchmaking, but they really did a fantastic job of it and rightly deserve the praise they are getting. Homage is often a dirty word, and they're something we're not generally a fan of, but in some cases it feels warranted. Those cases for us happen to be when a watch is no longer in production, precious few exist, and most of the watch collecting world, no matter how seasoned they are as a collector, will ever have a chance to see let alone own one. This ticks all those boxes.

This particular version is the Havana Salmon, and is so called due to the wonderful salmon and chocolate dial housed within a beautifully proportioned and nicely detailed 38mm steel case. It's topped with a double domed sapphire crystal and is powered by a Seiko Mechaquartz movement.
