Straum Opphav Damascus Blue Dial

You may not be familiar with Straum as they haven't been around very long, but the micro-brand from Norway are making a splash in the horological scene with their first few lines of watches 'largely selling out, and are being met with praise from whomever has a chance to handle them.

The version we have here is the Opphav Damascus Blue, and features a 41mm case made from two carbon steel alloys of different properties, forged together and folded several times. When exposed to acid the unique pattern is revealed, reminiscent of wood grain or the texture of water. Within this case lies a stamped steel dial covered in multiple layers of blue lacquer, designed to evoke the pattern of glaciers, or ripples in the sea, and is stunning with its gradient effect. It's powered by a Sellita SW-200 automatic movement, and this piece is mounted to a Delugs calfskin strap and also includes the OEM Straum strap.

This particular example would have been delivered in 2022 and remains in TZ Near Mint condition. There's a few small marks on the brushed bezel, one near 9 and some around 5, but other than that it doesn't really show any signs of wear. Please see images for full condition details.
