Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme LAB 2 Q203T570

Is this one of the coolest pieces JLC have ever made? We certainly think so. Most folks have never heard of the Extreme LAB series, but it is a watch worth knowing about. Coming from an era when JLC were really pushing the envelope in terms of both aesthetics and mechanics, it is a technical tour de force which took them 4 years from when the first concept was shown at SIHH in 2010 to delivery of the initial pieces in 2014.

Lets' start with the case. Made of grade 5 titanium, it measures in at 46.8mm across the bezel, 53mm lug to lug and 16.8mm high. Clearly, this is not a small watch, however it wears extremely comfortably due to the curvature of the case back, the ratcheting articulated lugs, and lightweight titanium and ceramic construction. It's topped with a ceramic bezel, ceramic crown cover, rubber-protected titanium pushers.

Just looking at the watch it's clear to see its a very complex thing, and it's features include a chronograph with digital minutes display at 12 and 24 hour register at 9. There is GMT functionality with a hand that can be hidden, with it's 24 hour indicator located at 6. At 3 there is a discreet date. On the left side of the case there is a hacking lever, used to stop all functions on the watch. Then for the remaining setting, the crown is pushed in to select the various features you'd like to set such as time, winding or GMT. Finally, running form 9 through to 3 on the very outer track lies a radial power reserve indicator. Very cool indeed. It's powered by the JLC calibre 780 with 569 parts with automatic winding via a platinum and titanium rotor.

The straps deserves their own paragraph, as they're a work of art in themselves. The rubber strap currently fitted is rarely seen, and is our pick of the two. It features evacuated reliefs for pliability, the clasp features an ingenious in-built micro-adjust, and combined with the aforementioned articulated ratcheting lugs it is easy to get a perfect fit. The strap change system is fantastic too, allowing for changes without tools, with a quick release buckle and shutter system release for the strap itself, making changes a very quick affair.

This particular piece dates from the first series in 2014, and presents in TZ Near Mint condition. The case show some light hairlines and small rub marks, but that's about it. Buckle shows some light desk diving marks. Please see images for condition details.

Comes fitted to the rare rubber strap, and also includes the leather/rubber hybrid strap.

No service history that we're aware of. Keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.

Comes with correct outer box, inner box, guarantee certificate (expired), instruction booklet, hubrid leather/rubber strap and Watch Vault cleaning cloth.

Limited to 300 pieces, and very rarely seen on our shores, don't miss your chance to pick up this excellent example of the one of the great JLC's.
